Description
On 18 May 2025, the UN Postal Administration will commemorate International Museum Day and the 100th Anniversary of the Palace Museum with the issuance of a New York special event sheet. The 10 stamps in the denomination of $1.65 highlights the cultural and historical value of the Palace Museum as a World Cultural Heritage site and conveys the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture to the world.
The Palace Museum, housed in the Forbidden City in the heart of Beijing, China, was founded on October 10, 1925. It is built on the site of the Ming and Qing dynasty imperial palaces. In 1987, the Forbidden City was listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
