Description
The UN Postal Administration has revived and updated its personalized/customized stamp programme for 2023. A new stamp sheet format has been added, where the ten stamp designs and denominations are fixed but all the rest of the non-stamp area can be customized. This will give the United Nations agencies and member states the opportunity to celebrate anniversaries and achievements using the same United Nations stamps.
This new custom stamp sheet format and UN stamps have been used for the celebration of the World Health Organization 70th Anniversary and for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) 60th Anniversary, which were both issued in April 2023. The same stamp sheet format will be used in November 2023, for the sheet on the occasion of the UN Climate Change Conference.
Issue Date: 15 April 2023
Established on December 11th, 1963, by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has become a dedicated training arm of the United Nations system that curates and executes training and capacity development activities to assist the United Nations Member States. Most importantly, it pays special attention and makes extra efforts in providing accessible training and educational resources for Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and other groups and communities who are vulnerable, in conflict-driven situations or exposed to natural disasters. Today, UNITAR continues to work closely with the UN system and other international partners to deliver training and capacity building programs that support the implementation of the SDGs and promote global peace and security.
