The design is a graphic interpretation of a cross and a dove with the Swiss flag in orange and blue tones.
In a historic referendum Switzerland voted to join the United Nations on 3 March 2002. Switzerland will formally join the United Nations at a session of the UN General Assembly in September 2002. Switzerland will become the one hundred-ninetieth Member of the United Nations.
